Maktoobb.
A notebook that keeps time

Every line, in its moment.

Maktoobb stamps each line with the time you wrote it. Think out loud, log your day, catch ideas as they come, then find anything by date, tag or word. It works offline, keeps your notes on your own device, and syncs only when you ask it to.

Free to use. No account needed to start.

Write the next line…

Nothing to set up. Just write.

The time is part of the page, not a field you fill in.

Write a line

Type and press Enter. No dates to enter, no buttons to press, no folders to arrange.

It is stamped

Every line keeps the exact second it was written, in the margin, where it never gets in your way.

Find it later

Search every note, filter by #tag, or scroll back through the days. Export all of it whenever you like.

Small on purpose. Solid underneath.

The things a notebook needs, done carefully.

Honest timestamps

A live clock runs on the line you are writing. Freeze it when you press Enter, or at your first keystroke. You choose.

Tags that just work

Type #idea anywhere and it becomes a tag. One tap shows every line that carries it, across all your notes.

Private by default

Your notes stay in your browser until you decide to sign in. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.

Sync when you want it

Sign in with Google or email to keep one notebook on every device. Edits merge safely, and deletions travel too.

Works offline, installs

Install it like an app on your phone or computer, and keep writing on a train, on a plane, anywhere.

Any language

Right-to-left text is first class. Write in English, Urdu, Arabic or Hindi, even in the same note.

Yours to keep

Export a note as text, or everything as JSON. Delete your account and your cloud copy goes with it.

Careful sign-in

Google sign-in with PKCE, checked passwords, reset links, and database rules that only ever show you your own notes.

One quiet page

No blocks to arrange and no folders to organise. Multiple notes when you need them, and nothing else in the way.

Built like a product, not a demo.

Here is what is under the hood, for the curious.

Ask me anything

  • Local firstNotes live in IndexedDB, so typing never waits for a network.
  • Careful syncLast-write-wins merging, paginated pulls and deletion markers, so devices converge without losing edits.
  • Security in the databasePostgres row-level security decides who sees what, so the browser is never trusted to protect your data.
  • TestedHundreds of automated tests, run on every change, before anything is deployed.
  • Nothing third-party at runtimeCode and fonts are served from the site itself. No trackers, no ad networks, no analytics.

Start your first line.

It takes a few seconds, and your notes stay yours.
