Privacy

Maktoobb is a small, independent project. This page says plainly what it does with your data. Last updated 3 November 2026.

The short version

What is stored, and where

On your device (always)

Your notes, unsent drafts and settings are kept in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB). The app also keeps its own files in your browser so that it can open without a connection. All of this stays on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

In the cloud (only if you sign in)

If you create an account, we store the following with our database provider, Supabase:

Who else handles data

The app's code and fonts are served from this site itself. We do not load scripts, fonts or analytics from other companies.

Cookies and local storage

Maktoobb sets no tracking cookies. It uses your browser's storage only for your notes, your settings, the offline copy of the app, and your sign-in session.

How your cloud notes are protected

Everything travels over HTTPS. Database rules make sure each signed-in person can only read and change their own notes. One honest limit: notes in the cloud are not end-to-end encrypted, which means the person who runs the database could technically read them. Please do not store anything you could not afford to have seen, such as passwords or card numbers.

Your choices

Children

Maktoobb is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
